On a recent bike ride on one of my favorite routes through Elfin Forest and the Harmony Grove area I discovered that construction fences have been installed and demolition has begun on the future site of Harmony Grove Village, where Standard Pacific Homes plans to build a 742 home community on 468 acres. This site is where the Ward Egg Ranch and Harmony Egg Ranch has been located since the 1960s. This new community will be ideally situated with easy access to bordering Escondido and San Marcos in a rural setting surrounded by country estates, horses and scenic hilltops.
The plans for the development were approved in 2007 by the County Board of Supervisors and the intent for the new community along with the 742 homes is to provide public trails, open space, a private equestrian facility, fire station, sewer treatment plant and commercial space for business’s supporting the community needs. The mix of housing will offer townhomes and single family homes. Standard Pacific Homes is in the process of recording the final maps for Harmony Grove Village with the County of San Diego.
I am not aware of the time frame for construction and when the first homes will become available on the site at this time or what other home builders will be involved with the community. I will keep you updated on the progress as it becomes available.
