Site work continues at the location of the new master planned community of Harmony Grove Village, being developed by Standard Pacific Homes.
At his time much of the major earth moving is nearing completion including the re-routing of Harmony Grove Road. Standard Pacific Homes plans to build 742 homes at Harmony Grove Village. Harmony Grove Village is located between Escondido and San Marcos.
I've had little success getting a confirmation from the corporate office at Standard Pacific regarding when the first homes will be available for sale. During a discussion with a sales associate at another Standard Pacific Homes community I was informed that they expect to have the first homes for sale in early 2014. There is no information at this time as the product type or price ranges that will be initially offered.
In the mean time another developer is proposing a 362 home subdivision on 209 acres just north of Harmony Grove Village. According to UT San Diego, (Read Article) the site on Mt. Whitney Road and Country Club Drive — is now avocado groves and empty fields, with nearby neighborhoods featuring homes on mostly 1-acre to 4-acre lots. The proposed subdivision would feature homes on smaller lots — between 4,500 to 7,000 square feet — but would preserve roughly 100 acres of open space. This site will have to go through the public approval process which could take a considerable amount of time if approval is made.
This is just another sign of the demand for housing in the North County San Diego area as developers are moving forward to entitle new land for homes.
